Huhtamaki and Hesburger are strengthening their long-standing partnership through the development of new fiber lids, designed in close collaboration to support performance and sustainability in everyday foodservice applications.
Hesburger has launched their transition to customized Huhtamaki manufactured fiber lids designed for both hot and cold beverages. This milestone reflects a commitment to innovation, functionality and more sustainable packaging solutions.
Made from renewable, plant-based fibers, the lids are manufactured in our Huhtamaki Foodservice site in Alf, Germany. The design has been carefully optimized to provide an excellent user experience across a variety of beverage types. Whether used for hot or cold drinks, the lids ensure a comfortable drinking experience and reliable functionality in everyday use.
“The development work with Hesburger has been both smooth and insightful, supporting the sustainability goals of both organizations. This collaboration is a strong reflection of our valued partnership with Hesburger” says Mira Eklund, Key Account Manager.
Beyond performance, sustainability has been a key driver throughout the development process. The fiber lids are compostable, recyclable and contain no plastic coatings. By this transition from plastic to fiber lids, Hesburger is able to reduce around 41 000 kg of plastic every year.
