Meet Rahul Nene, Senior Manager Sustainability, Flexible Packaging India

As a Senior Manager in Sustainability, located in Thane, India, Rahul plays an important role in protecting food, people, and the planet in our Flexible packaging sites in India and beyond. Lately, Rahul has been working on increasing the share of renewable electricity in our Indian factories and developing a long-term strategy for the Huhtamaki Foundation Recycling Plant.  

“In terms of sustainability in our manufacturing plants, there's a strong emphasis on recycling non-hazardous waste and diverting waste away from landfills. Additionally, comprehensive water management plans are in place, with some sites achieving zero liquid discharge,” Rahul explains. “The key focus in the coming years will be to increase renewable energy sourcing, reduce solvents use in our manufacturing, and mitigate water risk and biodiversity impacts.”
